Wales Under-20s produced a stunning second-half comeback at Cardiff Arms Park to clinch a second win of the Six Nations.

Italy led a feisty encounter 15-0 at half-time following a score by prop Marcos Gallorini and a penalty try.

But the loss of Gallorini helped Wales hit back with 27 unanswered points through Harry Thomas, Harry Beddall, Kodi Stone and Matty Young.

The bonus-point win was not enough to lift Wales above Italy in the table.

However it still provided Wales with only a third win in their last 15 games of the junior Six Nations.

Italy had the chance to finish third, following wins over France and Scotland, but finish fourth, ahead of Wales on points difference.

They arrived full of confidence having four of the previous six championship meetings against Wales and looked on course to maintain that dominance.

Wales head coach made seven changes from the defeat to France, including debuts for Cardiff pair Matty Young and Elijah Evans in a completely new-look backline.

However they barely saw the ball in the first half as the Italian scrum dominated with tight-head prop Gallorini the spearhead.

The scrum gained them field position from which Gallorini drove over from close range before earning a penalty try on 36 minutes.

That also saw Wales prop Josh Morse shown a yellow card, having earlier gone close to scoring from a tapped penalty.

Beddall, handed the captaincy after Harri Ackerman fractured his leg against France, led a gutsy defensive effort.

The departure of Gallorini early in the second half allowed Wales to get back on level terms at the set-piece, that was compounded by Italian indiscipline.

And Wales struck first after the break when replacement hooker Thomas finished a lineout drive seconds after Italy lock Samuele Mirenzi was shown a yellow card for dragging down a similar maul.

Beddall then followed with another lineout drive before Rhodri Lewis' flash pass saw replacement wing Stone score moments after coming on for his debut.

Young then raced over for the bonus point following a barnstoming break by man of the match Morgan Morse before fly-half Harri Wilde kicked a late penalty to seal the win.
