Liverpool have won the EFL Cup on 10 occasionsVirgil van Dijk says he is "so proud" to be a Liverpool player after heading in an extra-time winner for the Reds to beat Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final.
It gave Liverpool a record-extending 10th EFL Cup triumph in manager Jurgen Klopp's final season with the club.
"It's all for the fans, so let's enjoy it," Van Dijk told Sky Sports.
An under-strength Liverpool started the game without attacking trio Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota, while Ryan Gravenberch was taken off on a stretcher after Moises Caicedo's first-half challenge.
"Intense game for both sides, they had chances we had chances. Amazing. First trophy as Liverpool captain," Van Dijk added.
"Listen, we will never take things for granted and you see today it could have been the other way as well that we lost.
"But we did a job, even with all the problems we have had before the game.
"I'm so proud, proud to be part of this club and especially proud of the boys."
