Trump praised Wiles on Truth Social on Monday, before revealing, "unfortunately, she has been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, and has decided to take on this challenge, IMMEDIATELY, as opposed to waiting".

Wiles, 68, is the first woman to serve in the position. Considered the most important White House staff role, chiefs of staff keep the president's agenda on track.
