Severe weather batters US including this tornado in Illinois

Here in Kankakee, Illinois, about 60 miles south of Chicago, emergency crews are assessing the damage after a tornado touched down on 10 March, according to the BBC’s reporting partner, CBSNews.

The event was part of a string of severe weather that stretched from Texas to Michigan, causing the deaths of two people in Indiana on Tuesday.

The severe storms brought rain, hail, damaging winds and intense tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service.
