Peter Kay show evacuated due to 'suspicious bag'

Police have evacuated the Utilita Arena after discovering a "potential suspicious bag".

A 19-year-old man is in custody and as a precaution the site is currently subject of a search, West Midlands Police said.

Comedian Peter Kay had been performing for about 45 minutes when the show was cut short and the Birmingham venue was evacuated, a BBC reporter who was in the audience said the crowd left quickly and calmly.

The venue has been contacted for comment.
