England's men will be hoping to reach the final for the first time since 1986
England and Wales will face each other in the pool stages of the men's Hockey World Cup later this year.
Both countries came through the recent World Cup qualifiers and will be joined in Pool D by arch rivals India and Pakistan.
The Pool D games will be played at the Wagener Stadium in Amsterdam.
Ireland will be based in Wavre in Belgium and will take on Australia, Spain and South Africa in Pool C.
The men's and women's tournaments take place from 15-30 August in the Netherlands and Belgium.
England's women will also be based in Amsterdam and will face world number four side China, India and South Africa in Pool D.
England recently beat India in the final of the World Cup qualifiers and China in the FIH Pro League and will be confident of making the quarter-finals.
Ireland, the 2018 World Cup silver medallists, were drawn in Pool C alongside co-hosts Belgium, Spain and New Zealand.
Scotland will have a tough challenge in Pool B against world number two team Argentina, Germany and the USA.
Ireland and Scotland will play their matches in Wavre.
Defending men's champions Germany will face Belgium, France and Malaysia while women's holders the Netherlands are pitted against Australia, Chile and Japan.
Fixture details will be announced on Wednesday.
